Public Service Broadcast Club 5 - TODAY!

Check it out kids, we're back for another afternoon of fun music at the Notting Hill Arts Club (21 Notting Hill Gate, W11) in London. Copied and pasted from t'website:

TIM TEN YEN is the snappiest dressed man in London. Probably. What is certain is that "Everything Beautiful Reminds Me of You", released via Pointy Records, was the snappiest sun-drenched pop record made last year by a snappily-dressed man from London. SNAPPY. His live shows come assisted by The Sinister Cat, and if that doesn't pique your interest by itself, well...

INTERNET FOREVER bill themselves on their myspace as "the dangerous sounds of twee". We think they're like a Times New Viking-savvy take on what Beat Happening were so special for - a band that places youthful exuberance and a desire for maximum fun moments uber alles. We're SOLD.

POPE JOAN are a four-piece avant pop band from Brighton. Trading in angularrrrr guitar lines and 8-bit synth fury equally, debut mini-album Hot Water, Lines and Rickety Machines was last year via the fine people at OIB Records (also responsible for Lonely Ghosts, who some of you may remember from our Christmas party) and garnered a lot of lovely words from the underground press.

As usual, the show is from 4pm to 8pm, it's TOTALLY FREE, there'll be cheap drinks and we'll be playing some CHOONS (me says likely to include: The Auteurs, Best Friends Forever, Bruce Springsteen, Casiotone For The Painfully Alone covering Bruce Springsteen, Deftones, El-P, Handsome Furs, The Hold Steady, of Montreal, No Age...) between the bands. It's the best way to start off your Saturday! OFFICIALLY.

Also, check out Laura Wolf's (from Internet Forever, y'know) awesome poster up there. Amazing, huh?

If you are so inclined, you can find the event on Facebook here and Last FM here. Tell your friends! Bring your friends! Introduce us to your friends!
