FWW: Need To Know

The latest issue of US magazine Alternative Press feature Fighting With Wire alongside other UK bands such as OK Pilot, Johnny Foreigner and Trencher in it's annual 100 Bands You Need To Know feature.

Formed in 2003 by Jetplane Landing guitarist Cahir O'Doherty, Fighting With Wire were nearly wrapped up by disillusioned members after bieng consistently ignored by managers, labels and distributors. "We cannot escape these songs," says O'Doherty, laughing. "A few years back, we were going to do one more tour and then pack it in. It all went crazy, and now we find ourselves off to America to try all over again with songs that are five years old." With new wind in their sails and an album to be recorded before the end of 2009, the adventure is on for Fighting With Wire. "We really don't know what will happen," O'Doherty admits. "We come from the early 90s school of rock. American alternative music from that time is our major influence. Three Irish shits trying to sell that back to America 15 years down the line; you know, I'm not really sure how that will go down."

For those who rock: Burning Airlines, Kerbdog, Pixies
