It's that time of the year again - this year STA's Singer Songwriter Trail is extended across 9 venues in the Maiden City and features 24 breaking talents. Did we mention that Valerie Francis is playing... oh yes, I've mentioned that before. Latest addition is last of the great Delta Bluesmen - T-Model Ford. City Of Song Festival 2009 Line Up

Music55-7 in association with STA and Tennents present the ‘City Of Song Festival 2009’

We've spent a lot more time on this year's line up (basically we've been planning since 2008's event) and I really think that this year's songwriter trail includes the cream of singer/songwriter talent from Ireland and further afield. Notably, Valerie Francis will be making the journey to Derry for some very special sets. We heart VF in the STA office...

If you don't know how City Of Song works - it's in our fine city of Derry - on September 25th & 26th; in six bars through the town and it's all completely free.

Line up includes

D:Ream (seriously)
Tenebrae
Valerie Francis

The Young Playthings Kick 'Em Out

We're pretty sure that you will remember the City Of Song festival which took place last September here in Derry on the same weekend as This Ain't No Picnic ran in London. You'll also remember that our very own Young Playthings played the festival as part of their whistle stop tour of Ireland. While the guys were over here, they filmed a session for NVTV's Kick Out The Jams program. NVTV is a Belfast-based community television service which does a great deal of work in promoting up and coming musical talent. You can check out the entire session below.
